RE: Your Fuel/Oil comments - please post here

With RBOB continuously going down at this time, I chuckle at the masses fueling up at Murphy and squeezing the last ounce into tank. I guess they don't realize that tomorrow the price will even be lower.
We started week off at $3.36 and tonight at $3.07. With RBOB at $1.80 close today we might have $2.60+/- soon.

RE: Your Fuel/Oil comments - please post here

Gas now down to $2.89 ! :)
And more reductions will be forthcoming.
So we're out of luck in SC? Still at $3.59.
Interesting how, as the Barrel Price drops, the pump price stays the same. Oh, I forgot about Supply and Demand.
Maybe they will get the Texas refineries up by Christmas. :h
I believe if you watch the GAS or RBOB numbers flash across the top of the TV screen on CNBC, you will see a better relationship between gas pump prices and traded gas futures. Oil and gasoline are somewhat independent in pricing. You can have oil going down and gasoline going up and vice verse.

RE: Fuel Rants & Raves - Post 'Em Here!

Draw your own conclusions from the data but personally I would not be suprised to see $60 oil within 2 years.
I posted the above back on page 6 of this thread.
With oil closing at $87/barrel today down from a high of $147, it looks like it might not be a full two years to get back to $60 after all. Only $27 to go.
$60.00/barrel? I don't think in my future, but I'm a pessimist, so I will be correct or pleasantly surprised.

RE: speed limit

I wonder how many of the I'll drive 55mph in a 70mph zone no matter how those bird flipping jerks feel were get out of my way you jerk when they got the keys to the car in their early driving days.
I attempt to keep the traffic flowing smoothly on a single direction lane of traffic. If not at the posted limit than at least close to it, i.e. limit minus 5mph for 55mph and above when conditions and regulations apply. If the road has two lanes in driving direction, then keep right and do the same thing. If three lanes, then keep far right and drop down to minimum posted or above.

RE: Duggars and their 18 kids

I think that ADOPTING a child or children is a very good option. There are so many children who are in NEED of a stable family life. I feel there is no reason to keep on having more children.
Our daughter and SIL have just adopted our grand-daughter and our son and DIL have also thought about doing the same.

RE: The Economy & Bail Out Options

Well, the House passed the bill and it is on its way to Bush. The stock market reacted to the good news by doing......nothing! :R
Should have done something else?:h
Everyone thought Wachovia was a done deal and look at what is now happening with Wells Fargo getting into the ring. Thought I read so many complaints from people regarding more tax dollars and now not a penny. Guess all the GURUS here don't know everything.
Continued next week, same time, same channel.

RE: Myakka River St.Pk, Florida ??

You might want to look at Oscar Sherer Park in Osprey fl. There are spots right on the water where you can launch. We live in Sarasota and are close to either pk but prefer OS when kayaking. Good Luck either one is nice.
We stay at O.S. often and there are many sites on the water, however, launching from these sites is prohibited by campground rules. Doesn't mean that people always follow the rules.

RE: how early is to early

Tell your neighbors you are leaving early and if you can't tell them leave a note on their door.
Prepare day/night before, be as quiet as possible and leave whenever you want.

I agree with all who have stated to simply say "Sorry, but no". If an explanation is asked for or you feel one should be given, then so be it.

RE: A Failed Economy

Dick A, that was a great post!! And now, armed with the hindsight of knowing the bailout "bombed" (at least for now) - now we can sit back and hopefully let some of the less-hasty and wise folks come up with better alternatives??
As someone who's been fiscally conservative all my life, it angered me to feel like we were being railroaded into "saving the country". Giving mountains of money to those who had NOT shown fiscal restraint in the past. And leaving our government in charge of private enterprise. Yes, "they" said we'd get our money back some day - do they really think we believed it???????
And yes, the Market is tanking. All those who were drooling at the thought of a monetary infusion are now panicked; but somehow, I feel like the wise and prudent people of the USA will continue to carry on.
Deb
What does your crystal ball say about how things will be tomorrow or the next day or day after that and so-on if no bailout is approved. Will everything just right itself and life will continue?Well for sure life will continue. It has been proven over and over again, throwing money (fake or real)has never solved anything. It was a bad bill, made in haste, and filled with waste. Taxpayers did not want it and finally some people in Congress listened to them.
I am not a computer whiz, if you could please post a link that has the entire bailout verbatim, maybe I can see where this throwing of the money exists.

RE: Sales down in Aug 07 and now again in 08 but much bigger

So, what's the point to this post other than to yell... "the sky is falling"?
Are there people living under rocks that perhaps don't know about the bad economic conditions?
My take on the post is that the numbers have shown a declining trend which continues to decline.
The SKY IS FALLING for many FELLOW AMERICANS and in many instances HAS FALLEN for many FELLOW AMERICANS.
People might not be living under rocks but I believe that many have their heads buried in the sand.
Thanks for the post.

RE: P30 cruise and speedo problem

Not savvy when it comes to electronics but what about brake pedal switch? Had a problem with a car once and shop found the switch was faulty. Kept on sending signal that brakes were being applied.
Good luck and let us know, I have '94 P30.
